Hush. Quiet the mind. Be still. Be comforted and know you are supported, guided, and held in love. Rest in Thee. Really only one of the few memories I have of my Grandma Maxine is of her holding me close in her bosom and saying “hush.” I am sure there was some life-threatening drama that my three or four-year-old self was upset and crying about…but I remember the safety and the comfort of being held by her. I felt this same feeling in the presence of my Aunt Rita and my Grandma Jean Davey…although Grandma Jean would have said “stai zitto, Carloucho!’ and we would laugh. I am grateful for the Powerful women, ancestors, who have given birth, who have given love and comfort, who have hushed a worried mind. Each one, a reflection of the Divine. So, let us lean into the comfort and spaciousness of the Divine and be held, loved, and supported. All is well.
